Associate Michael Blank Presents at Harvard Law School
September, 2008
On September 20, Insight Associate Michael Blank delivered a presentation on facilitation skills at Harvard Law School as part of a day-long Train-the-Trainer event for members of the Harvard Mediation Program (HMP) and the Harvard Negotiators. Approximately 20 participants attended the program, seeking to develop their skills as facilitators and to get training from a professional in the field. Mike led off the day by providing a systematic framework for conducting a facilitation and generating best practice advice as a group. The remainder of the day included hands-on exercises, where participants had the chance to practice their skills and to get feedback from their peers in a low-risk environment. The participants from HMP used the day as a way to prepare for modules they would be teaching at the Program’s then upcoming basic training weekend. The participants from the Negotiators will use these skills in part to form a corp of student trainers available to conduct negotiation training for others.
